Effortlessly Check Your AirPods Battery Level (Even Without Your Phone!)
Keeping track of your AirPods' battery life can be tricky, but fear not! This guide will show you various ways to check the charge on your AirPods, no matter what device you're using.
Checking AirPods Battery on iPhone or iPad
The easiest way to check your AirPods' battery is with your iPhone or iPad. Simply open the charging case with your AirPods inside and hold it near your unlocked device. A pop-up will appear on your screen, displaying the battery level for both your AirPods and the charging case.
For on-the-go checks, you can also access the battery level through the Settings app. Just tap on the AirPods option below your Apple ID, and you'll see the battery percentage for each AirPod.
Another convenient option is the Batteries widget. This widget displays the battery levels of all your connected Apple devices, including your AirPods, right on your Home Screen. Just long press on an empty area of your Home Screen, tap the "+" icon and select Batteries from the list.
Keep in mind: The widget only shows the battery level when your AirPods are paired with your iPhone, and the information might not update instantly.
Checking AirPods Battery on Apple Watch
If you have an Apple Watch, you can easily check your AirPods' battery from the Control Center. Just swipe up from the bottom of your watch face and tap the battery icon. This screen will display the battery level of your watch, AirPods, and even the charging case if it's open.
Checking AirPods Battery on Mac
There are two ways to check your AirPods' battery on a Mac. The first way is to click on the AirPods icon in the menu bar after connecting your AirPods to your Mac. This will display the battery status for both your AirPods and the charging case.
Alternatively, you can check through System Settings. Open System Settings, navigate down the sidebar and click on your AirPods name. The battery percentages will be displayed at the top of the window.

Checking AirPods Battery Without a Device
If you're on the go and don't have your phone or computer handy, you can get a general idea of your AirPods' battery life by checking the status light on the charging case. Open the case, and the light will illuminate:
- Greenlight: AirPods are fully charged
- Amber light: AirPods have less than one full charge remaining
- Other colors: Might indicate an issue with your AirPods
For Android and Windows Users
Unfortunately, there's no built-in way to check AirPods battery on Android devices or Windows PCs. However, you can download various third-party apps designed specifically for this purpose. Some popular options include AirPodsBattery for Android and AirPodsDesktop for Windows.
